How Long to Beat? Campaign Length & the 30-Day Clock
Rebel Wolves estimates 50-70 hours for The Blood of Dawnwalker — but the 30-day time system means your length depends on what you choose to spend time on.
Quick Answer
The developers' own estimate: a full playthrough of The Blood of Dawnwalker takes roughly 50–70 hours, with an average around 50 hours — a figure game director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz drew from Rebel Wolves' internal playtests. (A "40–70 hours" range has also circulated in coverage.) Real HowLongToBeat completion data will only exist after the September 3, 2026 launch.
Why Your Length Will Vary
The 30-day structure is the reason a single number doesn't fit this game:
- Time does not pass in real time — exploring, fighting, looting and traveling are free
- The clock advances only on major actions: heavy quest lines, spending skill points, certain dialogue choices, deliberate rest at shrines
- Each of the 30 days and nights is divided into 8 segments, and the game shows the hourglass cost before you commit
- Helping one person can mean arriving too late for someone else — so two players spending "30 days" can live completely different amounts of content
No Fixed Main Quest
After the prologue, the game becomes a narrative sandbox — there's no traditional main-quest checklist pushing you through. You can:
- Tackle regions in any order, ignore or abandon whole storylines
- Kill quest characters and watch the story bend around the loss
- Even walk to the final boss, vampire ruler Brencis, almost immediately — the devs say it's near-impossible, but they won't stop you
If the 30 days run out, there's no game-over screen: the family is lost, the world reacts, and the story continues down a darker branch — which you can keep playing. That soft failure is also why "length" is fuzzy: a failed run is still a full run.
Replayability Is Baked In
Previewers consistently reported missing entire quest lines on a first pass — and wanting to replay immediately with different priorities. The time-spending design (including romance quests that cost a full day-night cycle) means a completionist-style replay tells a genuinely different story, not just a checklist re-run.
