Every major character in The Blood of Dawnwalker: Coen and his family, the vampire lord Brencis, and the companions — Anca, Lacra and Crake — whose quests decide which ending you earn.
The Blood of Dawnwalker tells its story through a tight cast: one farm family pulled apart by a vampire raid, an ancient vampire court ruling the valley, and a small set of companions whose trust you can win — or lose. Choices made in their company steer Coen between his two natures and decide which of the game's seven endings you reach.

Coen — the Dawnwalker
Coen is the character you play: the eldest son of a farming family in Vale Sangora, raised on silver-mine shifts beside his father and quietly hungry for the world beyond the valley. When the village rises against its vampire ruler and fails, Brencis bites him — but the transformation stalls halfway. The result is a rare dawnwalker: a human body and mind by day, vampiric power and a gnawing thirst by night.
That split is the whole game. Coen's family has been scattered — his mother and sister taken — and the road to getting them back forces a hundred choices between holding onto his humanity and leaning on the curse's power. Where those choices land is what separates his endings.
Brencis — the vampire lord
The game's final antagonist is no freshly-turned brute. Brencis was born a Roman aristocrat in 131 AD, climbed to the Senate, and had his sights on the consulship before the curse took him. Centuries later he rules Vale Sangora outright: cold, patient, brilliant, and openly dismissive of humans as livestock to be managed.
Two things make him unusual. First, the ritual: he is preparing a blood ceremony keyed to a total lunar eclipse. Second, his interest in Coen — he could have killed the boy and didn't, deliberately leaving him a half-vampire as a kind of cruel experiment. Every ending route in the game eventually runs through him; our endings guide maps the paths.
Coen's family
- Pieter — father. A former sellsword with a strict, reserved streak who shows love through discipline. He taught Coen everything about the sword — the prologue training quest is his.
- Esme — mother. Chronically ill for years, and failing faster under the occupation. She is Coen's deepest anchor and his most painful thought.
- Yanna — elder sister. The one who holds the household together whenever Coen is away.
- Mirto — younger brother and Lunka — youngest sister. Lunka shares the closest bond with Coen — and she is the one Brencis takes.

The companions
- Anca — the herbalist of Laslea Glen and the first companion whose path opens. Her hut becomes a de facto hub: a shrine for upgrading Coen's traits sits right beside it, and her errands (buying herbs, settling debts, the poetry evening that unlocks Page-Turner) build a bond with real mechanical teeth. Her quest line runs all the way to a finale that rewards a legendary piece.
- Lacra — a companion with a full multi-quest line of her own, from A Friend Like This through Song of the Mountain and Hive and Seek to its finale. She can also be romanced. Sticking with her to the end is one of the four main endings.
- Crake — the leader of the Liberators (the manumits), the human resistance working against the vampire court. His long mission chain — stretching through Who Pulls the Strings — is the rebellion's spine, and allying with him to the end is another of the main endings.
How the cast maps to the endings
The pattern is simple: family gives the story its stakes, Brencis owns the clock, and the companions own the conclusions. Renounce your allies and Brencis buys you — that's one ending. Stand alone and take him head-on — another. Walk Lacra's line to its end, or Crake's, and each delivers its own finale on top of the seven-ending structure. Even leaving the valley entirely is its own quiet ending.
