The Blood of Dawnwalker Leveling Fast — The Shrine XP Loop — Wiki & Guide
Published 2026-09-176 min read
Farm unlimited XP in The Blood of Dawnwalker with zero time cost: kill NPCs near shrines, fast travel to respawn them, and stack bonus corruption XP by hunting at night.
Experience in The Blood of Dawnwalker usually costs time — and time is the one resource you cannot earn back. This farming loop is the exception: it converts ordinary NPCs near shrines into a renewable XP source, charges zero time segments, and pays a corruption bonus if you do your hunting after dark.

The core loop
- Pick a target. Walk to any shrine and look for ordinary NPCs nearby. Crucially, avoid named vendors and village leaders — weaponsmiths, armorers, elders. Those deaths are permanent, and the loss of their services outlasts any XP gain.
- Kill and collect. Every kill near the shrine grants XP and costs nothing from the 30-day calendar. Kill at night and each kill also pays corruption XP, raising your vampiric corruption level — its own reward if you are building toward the vampire side of the story.
- Reset the room. Once the area is empty, fast travel to any other shrine and travel straight back. Everyone you killed has respawned. Rinse and repeat for as long as your patience holds.
The best farming spot: Urisha village
Any shrine works, but the densest respawn pool in the valley is the Urisha village shrine — it just needs unlocking first, via a short chain in the Svartrau arc:
- Follow the blood. In Svartrau, enter a certain informant's house through the balcony and poke around; the scene triggers an investigation into a bloodstained room. Finishing it points you toward Lacra.
- Track Lacra down and defeat her, then question the kidnapped Urishans she was holding. They carry the lead to their home village.
- Take the lead and go. It starts the Song of the Mountain thread — follow the guidance to the village.
- Mind your manners at the gate. Talk to the village's matriarch and choose your words carefully; push too hard and the meeting turns hostile. A calm conversation unlocks the Urisha village shrine, and with it, the farming spot.
From that point on, the loop is: kill, fast travel out, fast travel back, kill again. Between sessions you can spend the XP at any shrine — which is exactly where you are already standing.
Two warnings before you start
- Not everyone comes back. Only ordinary NPCs respawn through the fast-travel reset. Named quest givers and merchants do not, and several of them gate gear, services, or entire quest lines.
- Corruption is a direction, not just a bonus. Night farming stacks corruption XP, and corruption shapes how Coen's vampiric half develops — including how some story beats and endings read. Farm at night when you want that pull; farm by day when you don't.
Pair this with the fast money loop and a quick read of the 30-day timer mechanics, and your Coen hits the mid-game levels with a full purse and days still on the clock.
