Complete walkthrough of All Good Things, The Blood of Dawnwalker's opening quest: the forest chase, the attack on Laslea Glen, Coen's transformation, and the dialogue rules that matter.
All Good Things is the very first quest of The Blood of Dawnwalker — a guided, scripted opening that teaches you movement, both of Coen's combat forms, and the conversation rules the whole game runs on. You cannot fail it, but understanding it sets up everything that follows.

How the quest flows
- The forest chase. The game opens on a forest path outside Laslea Glen with Coen chasing his youngest sister, Lunka. Follow the trail, sprint on cue, and don't fight the brief scripted losses of control along the way — they're story, not mistakes. The path squeezes through a rock crevice and rolls into a cutscene.
- First blood. When the raid on Laslea Glen begins, you fight with human weapons. The windows are generous; this is a tutorial, not a test.
- Death, and what comes after. The story kills Coen on script and turns him. As a newly made vampire you replay the same fight with claws and vampiric abilities — the game's way of teaching both combat kits back to back.
- The conversation with the vampire. Your turner oversees the aftermath. Here the game teaches its dialogue colors (see below), and your choices here are conversation practice — the relationship stakes come later, with people gentler than this one.
- The church. The quest closes with the cutscene at Laslea Glen's church, and night falls on the village.
The dialogue rule the game teaches here
During the conversation, pay attention to the option colors:
- White options can be selected repeatedly — ask everything, exhaust them freely.
- Gold/yellow options are one-time picks. Once chosen, that thread closes for good. When a gold line touches a companion's personal story, it moves their bond.
This color language never changes for the rest of the game, and the first place it matters is the very next morning — see Withering Away, where one gold line begins Anca's entire romance arc.
What comes next
When All Good Things ends, the game hands you to the morning loop of Withering Away, which unlocks Page-Turner and Like Father, Like Son — and after that, the prologue's slow noose tightens through Sacred Covenant into Bad Blood.
