Following the Sound walkthrough: the Sanzhana waiting near the Mud Cup Tavern, the burrow in the hills, and the ghoul waiting inside — one of the four tasks that earn an extra day.
Following the Sound is the first of the four Sanzhana helper tasks — the chain that pays an extra day on the game's 30-day clock. A Sanzhana waits in the field, listening to something underground; you are the shovel. Bring a blade for what's making the noise.

How to start
Begin at the Mud Cup Tavern shrine and follow the quest marker into the fields. You'll find the Sanzhana standing in the open, head tilted toward the ground. Talk to it, and it leads you to the burrow — a den in the hills where something has been making noise that carries.
The burrow
Go in. The burrow is short, dark and occupied: a ghoul has claimed it, and the Sanzhana would like its home back. The fight is close-quarters — narrow tunnel, no room to kite — so lead with your heaviest opener and use the tunnel's corners rather than its middle. Vampiric claws make short work of ghouls; a sword and shield works fine if the sun is up.
When the ghoul is down, walk back to the burrow's mouth and report to the Sanzhana. The task closes, the Sanzhana is satisfied, and the tally toward your extra day ticks up: one of four.
Why this one first
All four Sanzhana tasks (Following the Sound, Sorrow of the Burrow, Pocket Dancer, Pearly and Precious) unlock together after Good Home, and any order works. This one earns its slot early for two reasons: it's the shortest, and its starting shrine — the Mud Cup Tavern — sits on a road you'll use constantly. Bank it, then pick up the rest on your existing routes rather than making special trips.
When all four are done, the game still makes you return to the Tsarina in person to collect the bonus day — the single most-skipped step in the chain. Don't skip it; the day only lands when you report back.
