The Blood of Dawnwalker Shovel Locations — Where to Find a Shovel for Treasure Digging — Wiki & Guide

Published 2026-09-213 min read

Three guaranteed shovel locations in The Blood of Dawnwalker: the Laslea Glen bear spot, the Briar Sloughs camp, and the woods between Maragir Wealds and the southern groves.

You can't dig a single treasure mound in The Blood of Dawnwalker without a shovel — and the game never hands you one. Any shovel digs every mound in the valley, you only ever need to find one, and it lives in your inventory from then on. Just don't sell it.

Shovel #1 sits right beside the dig site it serves — the bear spot on Laslea Glen's eastern edge.

Shovel 1 — Laslea Glen, the bear spot

Ride to the eastern edge of Laslea Glen, the prologue region, where a bear patrols the hillside. Kill it, and you'll find a shovel waiting at the spot where the fight ends.

Bonus: this is the exact dig site of the Laslea Glen treasure map — the mound is right there next to the shovel. Kill the bear, grab the shovel, dig the treasure in one stop.

Shovel 2 — Briar Sloughs bandit camp

The bandit camp in Briar Sloughs keeps a shovel among its loot. Clear the camp and search the containers before you move on — you'll want a shovel handy for the Briar Sloughs map's riverside tree anyway.

Bandit camps are the shovel mines of Vale Sangora — clear any camp, check the crates.

Shovel 3 — The woods between Maragir Wealds and the southern groves

The third guaranteed spawn is in the bandit camp in the forest between Maragir Wealds and the woods to its south. Same routine: clear the camp, loot the containers, take the shovel.

Which one should you get?

Whichever is closest. The Laslea Glen bear is the earliest and doubles as the first dig site, making it the natural first stop once you pick up a treasure map. Bandit camps stock shovels regularly, so if you're clearing camps for the maps themselves, you'll likely trip over a second one before you need it.
