The Blood of Dawnwalker Monster Nest Locations — All 32 Nests by Type — Wiki & Guide

All 32 monster nests in The Blood of Dawnwalker: how nest tracking works, day and night restrictions, the full nest-type breakdown, and using the 11 towers to reveal every nest.

Monster nests are the open world's mini-bosses: 32 of them dot Vale Sangora, each guarding a lair that pays out XP and skill points when cleared. They are the fastest outdoor way to push your level once the main road gets dangerous — and the difficulty does climb as you push south.

How nests work

  • Nests show as a white cave icon on the map; select one and choose Track to pin it. The map card always reads the same: "A deadly beast lives here."
  • Most nests can be entered any time, but some are night-only or day-only — those carry a yellow sun or moon icon next to the map marker.
  • Climb all 11 towers in the valley and every nest's exact position reveals itself. That doubles as the Bird's-Eye View achievement, so the tower run pays twice.
  • Expect a boss-tier fight at each lair, with a miniboss guard on the way in for the bigger ones.

The 32 nests by type

Type Count Notes
Kobolds's Nest 8 Skittish packs in the north — good early XP
Ghoul nest 10 The most common type; bloated corpse-eaters in caves and marsh edges
Wolf den 5 Fast fights, often near roads and farms
Tatzelwurm nest 5 Lizard-terrors in the southern hills; dodge the poison lunge
Bear den 4 Tanky brutes; bring fire and patience

Kobolds travel in noisy packs and fall to wide sword sweeps; ghouls telegraph their lunges and punish overcommitment; tatzelwurms are the real skill check, especially the southern ones two or three levels above the valley's average.

A clearing route that pays

Nests pair perfectly with the valley's other repeatable XP:

  • Start north with the Kobolds's Nests and wolf dens around Laslea Glen while you're still in your teens.
  • Save the tatzelwurms and southern ghoul caves for after you've pushed your Swordmastery tree — the Master of Arms perk window is the right difficulty curve.
  • Thread nests between story quests instead of grinding them back-to-back: each clear costs time segments, and the 30-day clock never stops.
