The Blood of Dawnwalker Crafting System — How to Craft

Published 2026-09-293 min read

Crafting in The Blood of Dawnwalker: the menu tab, reading recipes before you can craft, day/night consumable rules, and buff durations that respect the clock.

Crafting is available from the moment the prologue ends: a dedicated Crafting tab in the menu where Coen turns scavenged materials into heals, stamina restoratives, and timed combat buffs. The system looks mundane and isn't — in a game where the night changes your body, what you can drink depends on what you are, and the strongest buffs run on the same clock as the main quest.

How to craft

  • Open the menu and pick the Crafting tab (it sits at the bottom-left of the radial menu).
  • Select the item, confirm, done — crafting itself is instant.
  • Recipes must be read first. Finding or buying an item does not unlock its recipe; the recipe sheet is a separate consumable. Read it, and the item becomes craftable forever.
  • Materials come from the valley: loot boxes and containers for water, strip the roadsides and woods for herbs between objectives.

The day/night rule

Consumables split into day items and night items, matching Coen's two bodies. In vampire form at night, day-grade healing items won't work — and the reverse holds after sunrise. Carry both kits or you'll hit a fight your satchel can't support.

How long do consumables last?

  • Heals and stamina restoratives: seconds. They're combat buttons, not prep.
  • Stat buffs: the ones with an hourglass icon persist for multiple time segments — and they keep ticking only while time advances. Sit through a long task and re-apply before the next one; a buff cast on a quiet evening can still be on the next morning.

That hourglass line is the whole synergy with the 30-day clock: buffs are cheapest when you attach them to time you were already going to spend.
